Review
Andy Cabic's aura is undeniable. His voice (that reminds us at times of Mark Evertt's, the leader of the band Eels), his deep songwriting and the overall cohesion of his band make Vetiver a powerful folk formation. From classic folk ballads to acoustic indie rock tunes, Vetiver relaxed our ears and even reminds us at times of the masters: Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan...

Vetiver

Vetiver is an American folk band headed by songwriter Andy Cabic and often joined by Devendra Banhart, cellist Alissa Anderson, and violinist Jim Gaylord. They released their debut album Vetiver in 2004 on the small indie folk label DiCristina. Since the album’s release Vetiver has toured extensively, opening for and collaborationg with Banhart and Joanna Newsom. Before moving to San Francisco Cabic was a member of the North Carolina indie rock band The Raymond Brake who released some records on the now-defunct Simple Machines label. The band is named after the grass, vetiver. Their music has been described as ‘surreal’, ‘lullingly pleasant’, ‘tender and accessible’ and ‘quirky and warm’.
Venue

Nouveau Casino

Following a discrete opening mid June of 2001, and a handful of magical parties, Nouveau Casino launched itself into the Parisian musical scene.
Nouveau Casino is determined to defend a different perspective of music, one which privileges hybrid expression and cutting edge initiatives. It has positioned itself as a host for concerts, images and unique parties where musical discovery is linked to a resolutely convivial atmosphere.
Entirely isolated from its immediate neighbours by a wall of colossal thickness and endowed with highly professional technical equipment as well as a team that possess know-how in multiple fields, Nouveau Casino is a remarkable concert hall that has the ability to welcome different artistic expressions, namely those from digital arts.
Moreover, when night falls, Nouveau Casino has the rare privilege of transforming itself into a veritable club where live electronic music mixes with the pleasure of the dance floor for groovy and sparkly parties.
