Review

Late in the evening, Voice and her faithful producer Moonstarr appeared in the dark & underground Batofar cargo hold. The mood was electric, as the french public re-discovered the one they knew through her Wax Taylor appearances. Voice threw down mad hip-hop beats and tranported the audience to NYC! Her soft voice, rough at times, gave even more energy to Moonstarr's beats. Great show.

Artist

Voice

picture

Voice, originally from New Orleans, was born to a musical family. With a jazz-singer mother and a sister who's voice can be found on many hip hop compliations, Voice's music was pre-destined to be 50% jazz and 50% hip-hop. She has collaborated with MC's and producers from all over the world (amongst whom the french Wax Taylor), with a flow that can be sweet and sincere at times and powerful and rough at others. Often accompanied by Canadian producer and DJ Moonstarr, she tells stories of everyday life, however easy or hard it may be.

Venue

Le Batofar

picture

The Batofar is the only "fire-boat" that still floats! Since 1997, the boat is docked in the 13th district of Paris. Truly atypical and underground - expect the biggest beats and the baddest sound. Outside bar & terrasse in the summer is a must see.
