"Rock Republic" was held in the mythical Parisian venue "Le Gibus" - an opportunity to discover young upcoming bands from the european rock scene. Among them The Wasters: more of the same? another band starting with "The" somthing? Yes but No - the Wasters play a good rock and give a good performance, with a little bit of attitude borrowed from the classics: Janis, MC5, Led Zep or the Velvet. Déjà vu from the 60's but freshened up for 08! Promising.

Whaddup, kids! hehehe... Hey these guys are young but they pump out a seriously powerful rock, led by the explosive voice of the young & energetic Manon. With an average age of 18, these 5 kids play real rock. They've got nerve, and are faithful to their "roots" the Stones, Velvet, Zombies, Troggs... (even though the Wasters were FAR from being born!). The resulting sound is a fresh and authentic rock sound, as though they were the missing link between the rock 60's and the punk 70's.

Sans aucune frilosité et avec plutà´t beaucoup d aplomb, ils s inspirent des plus nobles rockeurs des 60 ( Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground, the Zombies, the Troggs) pour balancer un rock frais et authentique, un peu comme s ils avaient été le chainon manquant entre le rock 60 et le punk 70 . more>>>

Le Gibus is more a club than a concert venue. But what a club ! James Brown and Chuck berry played there, the Sex Pistols and Iggy Pop threw down their trippy guitar riffs on stage and Daft Punk heated the audience Edgy and mythical.
