Dressed up with 3 piece suit, a classic pair of shades and a felt hat, Son of Dave has the style that goes with his music... Old-school but new school, tainted with all kinds of R&B, funk & soul influences, and a devilish smile and energy worthy of the funkiest 50's swingers. True man-orchestra, Son of Dave beat-boxes, plays harmonica & guitar, and sings/whispers/screeches with his trademark raspy voice. His music could have been the soundtrack of O'Brother, with his dark humor, hints of self-reflexion and sadness, and mad extravagance that he communicates to his audience. Unique.
Note: you'd never know, but the venue's monitors & sound were shot, can't believe Son of Dave pulled through amidst the tech difficulty!

Son Of Dave
Son of Dave, or Benjamin Darvill in real-life, is a singer-song writer from Canada. Before his solo project, he was part of the 90's band "Crash Test Dummies" in which he played guitar, mandolin & harmonica. In 2000, he became "Son of Dave". His goal: produce a 21st century blues tainted with Rn'B, soul and funk influences. Still armed with his harmonica, Son of Dave sings terrifically effective tunes that you can tell come straight from his heart and his guts. Old school but new school, unique.
