We met James Mercer (The Shins) and Brian Burton (Danger Mouse) at the Kube hotel in Paris for a cool interview produced in partnership with our friends from DrownedInSound.com
They talked about their collaboration, their new album to be out on March 9th 2010.

Oh, and we've been to their show at the Nouveau Casino in Paris, it was brillant, they covered Neil Young's "Don't Let It Bring You Down" and Tommy James and the Shondells' "Crimson & Clover".

Broken Bells

Broken Bells is an American indie rock band featuring artistproducer Danger Mouse (billed by his real name, Brian Burton) and James Mercer, the lead vocalist and guitarist for the indie rock band The Shins. The project was first announced on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. The pair decided to work together after meeting at a Danish music festival in 2004 and finding they were fans of each other's work. Mercer and Burton began recording together in secret at Burton's Los Angeles based studio in March 2008 and describe their material as "melodic, but experimental, too".

On December 14 the band released their first email update, in which a binary-coded message stating 'The High Road is hard to find' was displayed, offering a link to the band's web page, now with a new color scheme, for 'further details'. On the morning of December 21, the band informed fans in an e-mail message of the release of their debut single "The High Road", which was made available as a free download on their official site. The self-titled debut album is due out in the U.S. on March 9, 2010. more>>>

L'hà´tel Kube cache son luxe contemporain et ses 4 étoiles dans une impasse, du cà´té populaire du XVIIIe arrondissement. Au rez-de-chaussée, le lounge bar est un temple de la "finger food", à  base de sucettes de gambas et pousse-pousse cubiques au crabe-avocat-kiwi. Sur la mezzanine, les bubble-chairs design ont vue sur la curiosité du lieu, l'ice bar o๠la vodka se déguste dans des verres glaçons. Attention, le Kube a rendu plus d'un curieux addict.more>>>
